A Glide Arc device is used to produce Non-Thermal Plasma (NTP). NTP creates of an Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP). The main basis of this technique is a release of high energy (chemical, electrical or radiating) into water phase to generate highly reactive species. The most important species are hydroxyl radicals, which have a considerably high oxidation potential and thus they can non-selectively oxidize organic pollutants even at ambient temperature. Next important strong oxidation reagents produced by AOP are oxygen radicals, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide. NTP can be used to reduce micron size particles into nanoparticles.
